Sharing a single account across a household or extended family group has developed its own unwritten etiquette, rules about which profile is whose, whether marking something as watched on someone else's behalf is acceptable, and how to handle a show one person is actively partway through.
Breaking these unwritten rules, accidentally spoiling a queued show or disrupting someone's carefully tracked progress, can cause surprisingly real friction, since the shared account effectively functions as shared, semi private space even though it technically belongs to just one single paying member of the wider group.
